Welcome to the Research Cluster "Transnational Social Support"

In view of global developments, the future challenges faced by social work can no longer be met by relationships and structures of support that are limited to individual nations or societies. Welcome to the International Research Cluster "Transnational Social Support". The Research Cluster "Transnational Social Support” offers an institutional framework for the systematic advancement in the field of transnational social work research.

Transnationalism evokes a wide range of different forms and processes of social support by crossing national borders and national welfare systems.

The International Research Cluster “Transnational Social Support” responds to the increasing impact of transnational developments upon social work and related fields. It aims at the transnational opening and development of social work and offers an institutional framework for the systematic advancement of transnational social work.

The Research Cluster is located at the Institute of Social Work and Organization Studies at the University of Hildesheim Foundation and the Institute of Education at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, both in Germany. The cluster activities are organized in cooperation with the University of Toronto and York University (Canada), National Chengchi University (Taiwan) and Monash University (Australia)

All interest to cooperate with us is welcome
